You are a Wall-E aren't you...
What is Wall-E?
Wall-E is an animated film about a trash compacting robot that is left behind on earth to clean up after humanity makes in uninhabitable from it's pollution. Wall-E's job is to gather up all of the trash left around the earth and crush it into cubes that are arranged into large piles until the earth becomes re inhabitable and safe for human life.
In the intro we see the earth from space or whats left of it after humanity has left it in it's wake, we can see from a side-by-side comparison that the water that was on the surface of the earth has darkened and there is a thick layer of satellites in the earth's orbit

One opening to rule them all
The Fellowship Of The Ring
Because The Lord Of The Rings is a fantasy series of films the opening scene tells a prologue to the events of the series, it tells of the 'Rings Of Power' and the events that lead up to the 'One Ring' ending up in the possession of the main character
Sound
The music played at this point is quiet and eerie and this sets the tone for the events prior to the film.
There is a narrator to explain the events that we see on screen in further detail
mise en scene
The main titles fade in slowly to reveal the name of the film, the slow fade in creates a slow pace

We see that something is in the process of being created, the narrator tells us that what we are seeing is the creation of "the rings" this conotes the beggining
We then see the hands of three high elfs recieving there rings, the camera then moves and we see them studying there gifts. We then see the human and dwarf lords recieving rings also. This conotes equality between the races of middle earth
A map of Middle Earth is shown to us next to tell us as an audience where we are, the map slowly drifts towards Mordor and then fades away suggesting that this is a dark place.
The camera then sets the scene of Mordor by showing the land from a wide angle with a volcano erupting deeply into the shot.
The camera then uses the cut in method to show Sauron inside of his volcano lair wielding his ring

The opening gotham deserves, but not the one it needs
The Dark Knight Rises
The opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises outlines who the main antagonist is in this film as well as introducing us to him. Bane is shown to be a master of tactics and a superior intellect compared to the other characters shown in this scene. Because The Dark Knight Rises is an action film the plane that is being used to transport Bane comes under attack thanks to Bane's mercenaries who free him and set the plot for the rest of the film.
