Filming.
We were on set for about 3 hours to be able to film the scene from many different angles and also the shot where the survivor draws his gun to shoot the infected needed to be shot at different speeds and from different angles to give us freedom over how we show this moment during the final production
Actors do make the movie ( the cast)
The cast of our production includes my uncle, Martin, who will play the protagonist. He fits as a survivor as he has a rugged look to him with his facial hair and tattoos
His partner, Lisa, who was not originally cast but after other actors dropped out she was available to replace them and was a good infected person as she has a generally vacant look to her face and her paleness.
One of they're daughters, summer, plays a child that has been caught up in the midst of the apocalypse. We chose her as she is related to other cast members and it would be easier for them to display a bond between them

Finalized script
RH: Radio Host
S: Survivor
[Interior: Radio station. Background music is upbeat]
RH: And welcome back to 237 days since the Incident. That’s right, folks. Christmas is just around the corner, so stock up on that delicious canned turkey for the festive season. Or better, we could get together some time. I know you’re all giving me the silent treatment, but—fun. Well you know where I am: Same bat time, same bat channel. And now for the weather.
[As the radio host is talking, there’ll be crosscutting to the survivor: the polar opposite of the host. Broody. Dangerous. The setting is the woods.]
RH: The gamma levels out in sector 2 are a low and pleasant 24, and chances of the sun making an appearance is pretty bleak.
[The transmission can be heard coming from a rucksack. The survivor approaches where the noise is coming from. Opens bag. Find walkie talkie. This is the first voice he’s heard in almost a year.]
RH: For you younger listeners, it was the big ball of fire in the sky before we replaced with one of those energy saving do-hickeys. God bless the late, great government. And that’s about all we—
S: [Speaking into the walkie talkie] Hello?
RH: [Freezes] …And we have our first caller. [Typing, clicking, and trying to find the right security footage to find the survivor] What’s your name, friend? What’s your story?
S: [Amusement] You’re crazy. This is crazy.
RH: You’re crazy, I’m crazy…How about another one? Can you tell me where the nearest infected is in your local area?
S: It’s just me. It’s just me now.
RH: Wrong answer. Take a look around and see what you could’ve won.
S: What?
RH: There’s someone behind you.
S: [Tense, already reaching for the gun. The infected behind him has blotchy green skin. Vacant stare. Survivor shoots him]
RH: That was violent. Wanna talk about it to our listeners?
S: Shut up. [Rummaging through the infected’s pockets; finds photograph of the Infected before the Incident. He’s with his daughter. Looks up and sees the daughter, now infected.]
Setting up shop (the location for the radio host)
To be able to get the effect that our radio host lives a sheltered life we needed somewhere that was quite cramped but also had the necessary equipment to pass as a radio station. Luckily I remembered about a room i was taught in previously and how the corner or the room plays host to some radio equipment.
This has the close proximity that we required to give off the intended effect of isolation between the radio host and the rest of the world but also has a number of possible locations to set a camera up and film with ease without revealing the other parts of the room.

Setting the scene (finding the correct location to film)
Pictures
Our plot dictates that the survivor find a bag of supplies so I hung my bag on a branch to get a concept of where we would need to position the camera in relation to the trees in order to get the correct framing
Our plot also has our protagonist finding a little girl hiding after he shoots her dad and must make a moral choice on whether to help her survive or to leave her to fend for herself. We found a number of alcoves for the actor to hide during filming and documented there positions by taking reference photos
There are also some semi-uprooted trees in the area that could suggest something is wrong in the world to prevent these trees from growing properly, this would be a challenging place to film as during the day shadows are cast towards the set and the camera would have to be placed so as to not cast a shadow whilst filming

Animatic
We did a rough run through our storyboard using stick-men with our own attempts to voice them to get an idea of how long our production was going to last

How will the world end? (conventions of post appocalyptic genre)
The post apocalyptic genre is a sub-genre of science fiction and focuses around the annihilation of human life. There are many different causes to an Apocalypse in films but popular causes include zombies, nuclear war, a meteor striking the earth or a biblical apocalypse examples of these apocalyptic causes are:
The war of the worlds
The war of the worlds is an example of an alien caused apocalypse with invaders coming to earth in an attempt to exterminate the human race.
I am legend
I am legend is the story of Robert Neville and his continual survival after a failed cure for cancer leaves the world at a standstill when humans start to mutate into creatures that are burnt with uv light and are driven by primal instinct
